The 5 peaks; an idea of genius!

We do not know who had the idea to develop these five mountains but we find that it is a very good idea. The concept is in the form of a challenge and to get there you have to climb to the top of the following mountains at your own pace between June and October: Mount Ligori, Eagle Peak, Acropolis of the Draveurs, Mount Elijah and Mount Morios. Some anecdotes; there was what we locally called fire towers on several mountains in the area, it was years ago. A guard had a small cabin in the mountains not very far from the tower and had to communicate by walrus if he saw a fire from the top of his tower. A majority of the 5 peak mountains had one of its towers at the top.

We imagine that it ended in the late sixties or early seventies. To our knowledge, the last round of fire was demolished in the eighties. It was the Acropolis and it was positioned on the Mount of Erables. It was then necessary to be reckless to climb but it was always possible until the moment of its demolition.

To climb Mount Elie, you will take a very old road, built by Hydro Quebec, probably in the sixties. The Hydro then builds its towers without any detour regardless of the altitude difference. You will find that it was not a good idea because they fell a few dozen kilometers during an ice storm in the sixties.

Monseigneur Félix Antoine Savard has already told someone that he buried a collection of texts or poems, it was not so precise, on Mount Elie in a tin box. The story does not say when it would have been done but probably in the sixties. Is it a legend? Who really knows it. If Monsignor Savard climbed the mountain, he would have taken, according to us, the old fireguard's path from the lake to the east. Unfortunately, the trail has not existed for a long time.

So much for old stories; it's up to you to create new ones.
